Summer 2014
Piedmont Council 61
“The aircraft cabin is HOT!” How HOT is it? If you do not have a thermometer you have NO idea how hot it really is. AFA is providing some mercury thermometers to help you. For an accurate reading you will need to be able to place the thermometer on a surface which is not near the hot water or ice. We recommend you should leave the thermometer unattended for a period of time to get a more accurate reading.
This thermometer is a tool for your use when documenting the inflight temperature of the aircraft cabin. There are many important factors to note during documentation: Aircraft, Date, Time, Location of thermometer (row 1, 9 or 13) and Sequence of flight (boarding, climb, cruise, descent or deplaning). If you have your own personal thermometer with humidity indicator please note this information as well.
Our AFA Safety Committee will be collecting and recording all data submitted by our Flight Attendant group. Please use attached chart and fax to 607-785-4125 or leave in Heather Obrien’s mailbox in MDT.
